Using the Intel Compiler Suite

The current version is 11.1.

To use the intel compilers you need to set up your unix environment.  The easiest way is to use the setup scripts provided by intel as follows:

tcsh:

  • source /afs/slac/package/intel_tools/compiler11.1/bin/iccvars.csh [ia32|intel64]

  • source /afs/slac/package/intel_tools/compiler11.1/bin/ifortvars.csh [ia32|intel64]

bash:

  • . /afs/slac/package/intel_tools/compiler11.1/bin/iccvars.sh [ia32|intel64]
  • . /afs/slac/package/intel_tools/compiler11.1/bin/ifortvars.sh [ia32|intel64]

If you intend to use icc, icpc, ifort (f77 or f95) with MPI (via mpicc) you should set:

tcsh:

       setenv OMPI_CC `which icc`

       setenv OMPI_CXX `which icpc`

       setenv OMPI_F77 `which ifort`

       setenv OMPI_FC `which ifort`

bash:

       export OMPI_CC=`which icc`

       export OMPI_CXX=`which icpc`

       export OMPI_F77=`which ifort`

       export OMPI_FC=`which ifort`
