Abstract:  Much progress has been made in the use of type Ia supernovae (SNe) for cosmology, but systematic errors now rival the statistical errors. I will describe efforts I have undertaken as a member of the Supernova Cosmology Project to improve this situation. I describe new high-redshift SNe added to the Hubble diagram, improved Hubble Space Telescope photometry and calibrations, and the combination of these supernovae with other datasets. As much as possible of this work has been conducted with the results at each stage of the analysis hidden until finalized ("blinded" analyses)
