Cosmic ray origin in SNR shocks and transport in the Galaxy?

Abstract

Review of the problem of the origin of galactic cosmic rays is presented. The discussion covers the models of cosmic ray propagation in the Galaxy, the connection with gamma-ray astronomy, the particle acceleration in supernova remnants, the interpretation of "knee" in cosmic ray spectrum, and the transition from Galactic to extragalactic component of cosmic rays.
