I believe a spherical display will be very useful for GLAST (or other astronomical) data, both for science visualization as well as E&PO purposes. This GLAST lunch will be a demonstration of the "Magic Planet" system. If you have some sample data and can send it to me or directly to Global Imagination ahead of time, they can probably display it during the demo. I did this with some Data Challenge photon maps some time ago -- representing the photons with circles, the size of which depicted photon energy, but use your imagination in the use of the (color) display. The best input format is in the form of a rectangular image (jpg etc.) where the axis are longitude and latitude (or right ascension and declination) over the whole sphere.
