Acoustic Detection of Ultra-high Energy Neutrinos

What do you get when you mix neutrino physics, particle astrophysics, and acoustics, and sprinkle in a touch of US Navy submarines and sunshine from the Bahamas? The SAUND experiment! I'll explain why we expect ultra-high energy cosmic rays to be neutrinos, what they imply in terms of astrophysics, and the particle physics challenge of detecting these neutrinos.
