Galaxy Morphology: The Tuning Fork that Blossomed into a Lemon

Galaxies come in all shapes, colors, and sizes. Classifying them can be rather difficult, and we do not have one morphological classification system to do so. I will discuss some of the systems astronomers have created to make sense of the zoo of galaxies out there. I will also show where the Milky Way fits in and try to provide a little tour of it. If there's time, I'll then hand it off to the made-for-TV-actors from Carl Sagan's Cosmos to explain the things I left out.
