Black Holes as Mirrors

"In 1976 Stephen Hawking posed a paradox about black holes and information conservation that has obsessed physicists for more than thirty years.  Recently, some fascinating new insights into Hawking's 'Information Paradox', and the quantum nature of black holes, has emerged from the field of quantum computing - in particular from the work of Patrick Hayden and John Preskill.  On Tuesday, February 12, Patrick Hayden will give a seminar explaining his work with Preskill.
