Professor Elliott Bloom - Interests and Projects for Students
There are many opportunities for Stanford Physics and Applied Physics graduate students in the KIPAC-SLAC GLAST Physics Department. We are located in the Fred Kavli Building at SLAC. Elliott Bloom spends most of his research time currently working on the analysis of Fermi-LAT data for science projects in the areas of the search for dark matter and new physics, and understanding the gamma - ray diffuse background. He also works on projects that explore the details of LAT operation in orbit based on space, ground and Monte Carlo data. These projects often result in improvements of the performance of the LAT instrument. Professor Bloom has room for more graduate students and a number of projects that could lead to a thesis. Please email Professor Bloom if you are interested.
