We’ll be having our first organizational meeting of the Meeting of Astrophysics Students at Stanford (MASS) tomorrow at 12:30 pm. We’ll be deciding on the topics we want to discuss and a rough schedule for presentations (with a particular focus on incorporating the interests of the undergraduate summer students we have with us this quarter).
For new students, MASS is a weekly journal club for grad and undergrad students (no postdocs or professors) to discuss. During the summer the focus of mass is providing students with the broader scientific context of the research that goes on at KIPAC. For the courageous summer student, it can also be a great chance to practice your scientific presentation skills. We’ve gotten pretty great reviews from summer students in the past!
If Tuesdays at 12:30 pm don’t work for you please reach out to me. We’ve picked the time to minimize conflicts with other KIPAC events, but if there are a lot of people that can’t attend we’ll try to find a better time. Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
