Campus, PAB 232
Hello, Stanford and SLAC physics community.
We would like to advertise the following meetings of the Physics Equity and Inclusion Reading Group during the coming quarter, led by Josie Catherine Meyer and Claire Hebert. We meet roughly monthly over lunch to discuss some aspect of equity, inclusion, diversity, and justice relevant to physics or STEM fields, guided by a particular article, blog post or other reading material. All are welcome to join (even if you haven't done the reading, though we hope you will), and lunch is provided if you RSVP (details below)!
Tuesday July 23, 12:00-1:30 in PAB 232: Josie Catherine Meyer
Reading: "Masculinities and Experimental Practices in Physics” (Gonsalves, Danielsson, and Pettersson 2016)
The reading can be found here: https://physics.aps.org/featured-article-pdf/10.1103/PhysRevPhysEducRes.12.020120
If time is short, Josie recommends focusing on the abstract and introduction (Part 1) and the conclusion (Part 5).
RSVP by Wednesday July 17 for lunch at this link:
