The Rubin Lecture Series
Join our Rubin lecture series to explore the scientific and technical foundations of this unprecedented survey and how it will reshape our understanding of the universe.
The Vera C. Rubin Observatory is set to transform how we see the universe by capturing an unprecedented, time-lapse “movie of the sky,” revealing everything from exploding stars to near-Earth asteroids. Its discoveries will help answer some of the biggest questions in science—such as the nature of dark matter and dark energy—while also connecting directly to planetary defense and our place in the cosmos. With Rubin having recently begun its survey, this is an especially exciting moment to stay up to date with the latest discoveries from this game-changing observatory.
Co-hosted with local partners—including community colleges, planetariums, science museums, and astronomy societies—these events offer unique, immersive experiences across different venues. You may also want to check out other programs offered by our partners!
