In 2026, KIPAC is running a new Rubin Series of public engagement activities in partnership with local community organizations. In our second event, a collaboration with the De Anza College Planetarium, KIPAC Rubin Fellow John Franklin Crenshaw gave a very engaging talk with break-taking full-dome visuals, including one of the First Look images and a detailed simulation of galaxy mergers. The sold out crowd of more than 70 people was super engaged and asked many great questions related to Rubin and cosmology writ large.

The KIPAC team is grateful to the incredible team at De Anza College Planetarium for their partnership, and we look forward to more future collaborations!

We look forward to seeing you at the next event (more information coming soon)!
